Robina Bookkeeping: Tax Relief to Boast Economy

Everyone’s talking about the Government’s economic stimulus package. If you paid tax in the year 2007-08 and eaarned less than $100,000 you could receive a $900 cash bonus from the Australian Government

Maybe you are like a number of small business operators around Robina and Burleigh that still haven’t lodged their tax return. You need to make sure that it’s lodged by 30 June 009 to qualify for the rebate.

We’ve spoken to a number of clients already, and noticed an increase in bookkeeping enquiries, as everyone scrambles to ensure that their bookkeeping is upto date so they can lodge their tax return.

If people use the tax bonus cheque to pay outstanding bills, clear credit cards, or add to their mortgage repayments, then how does that stimulate the economy?

There will be some folk who really need to buy the latest play station, or really need to get a blu-ray player and movies on blu ray, so they’ll be stimulating the economy.

Most of our clients are more concerned about cash-flow in their business, and keeping everything moving forward, so some random “consumer spending” to keep the economy moving will be on the bottom of their list
